Event Description

Welcome to the beautiful lakeside community of Findley Lake, NY.   Just off of I-90, two  hours south of Buffalo, NY and 20 minutes from Erie, PA.  Challenging and beautiful! 

Sprint & Olympic Triathlon & AquaBike:

Start with a 750m swim in the gorgeous Findley Lake. Then ride a hilly 14.4 mile bike course followed by a 5K run on the flat and fast roadway hugging the shore line of the lake. The Olympic participants will complete 2 loops of each course.  Paratriathletes are welcomed!

Participants in the Aqua Bike competition will complete the event after the bike. Finish times are recorded as participants racks theri bikes and make it to the Finish Line. There are no relay team entries for the AquaBike.

Swim Course: The swim is a 750m rectangular course in the quiet waters of Findley Lake. Men, Women and Relay Team swim waves three minutes apart with an in-water start.   The Olympic triathletes will turn around at the entrance location and return to do the same loop.

Bike Course: Bike a beautiful loop course measuring 14.4 miles.  Hilly out of the gate with gorgeous views of the quiet countryside. **Olympic distance competitors will do two loops of the bike course:

SAG vehicle on course.

 

Run Course: The course is flat as it follows along the lake shore.  Sprint racers will turn around at the 1.55 mile marker and Olympic runners will continue on around the end of the lake to the 3.1 mile mark and turnaround, staying on the lake side of the road always.  Fully stocked aid stations with Hammer Nutrition products and other goodies at every mile.  

The Sprint & Olympic Triathlon can be entered as a relay team of 2 or 3 members; each completing 1-2 of the event legs.

*Double Findley - Really challenge yourself with the Double - Race the Sprint AND the Olympic Tri (all athletes must finish the Sprint that begins at 7:00am and be back to the start line for the 9:00am Olympic Tri). More swag and bigger bragging rights!

**Relay teams cannot compete in the Double Ti or the AquaBike.

Friday - 12p - 8pm - Packet Pick Up at race site (not mandatory)

Saturday - 7:00am - Sprint Triathlon (Individuals and Relay Teams) Double Findley & AquaBike

                 9:00am - Olympic Triathlon (Individuals and Relay Teams) Double Findley & AquaBike

  • Triathlon, Sprint & Olympic  - Top 3 Overall Male and Female; M/F 5 year age groups 19&U - 80+
  • Paratriathletes - Top 3 Overall Male and Female
  • Double Findley - Top 3 Overall Male and Female
  • AquaBike, Sprint & Olympic - Top 3 Overall Male and Female
  • Relay Teams, Sprint & Olympic - Top 3 Overall

 

POST RACE:

Finisher medals & Race T-shirts

Beer Zone supplied by Southern Tier Brewing Company (must be 21 years of age)

Food provided by Wilson Endurance Sports. 

COURSE SUPPORT:

  • Water & Hammer Nutrition at start/finish, transition and every mile on the run course. No fluids offered on bike course.  There is an aid station within transition for our Olympic participants. 
  • Port-a-johns at race start/finish
  • Bike support & SAG vehicle

 

RULES:

All races are USAT sanctioned and all rules and regulations apply, and there will be no refunds for this event or bib transfers. Race is held Rain or Shine. It is the participants responsibility to know the rules for an event sanctioned by USA Triathlon. 

If not a current USAT member you will be required to purchase one day event coverage during registration.  $15 for Adults, $10 for 17 & Under.

There is NO refund for this event. However, with ADVANCE notice, you may defer to another Wilson Endurance Sports event or next years race. You must speak with Tonia Wilson directly via email at tonia@coachmarkwilson.com or 716-353-1288.
