Gilford Village 5K Road Race is ON! Saturday, August 29th, 8:00 am
Gilford’s Old Home Day festivities have been canceled, but our 5K Road Race is still on!
With our experience conducting Nordic Ski Training 6 days per week since mid-June, and a week-long Girls’ Nordic Day Camp in July, we’re confident that we can host the 43rd edition of our 5K running race in a safe and responsible way, and adhering to the NH Reopening Task Force’s guidelines for RoadRaces:

PLEASE READ, AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH, ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE REGISTERING!
• Race Participants, Race Staff, and Spectators are expected to adhere to the NH Reopening Task Force Guidelines for Road Races

• This event is open to New Hampshire residents only
• This event is pre-registration only, online registration only, and limited to the first 100 runners who register. There will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION
• Online Registration will open beginning Saturday, August 1st, and will close at 12:00 noon on Friday, August 28th
• Race organizers will take each runner’s temperature with a no-touch infrared thermometer at the time of bib pickup
o A temperature of less than 100.4 will be required for participation in this event
• All runners will be required to take our COVID-19 symptoms/exposure online survey (submit by phone) at the time of bib pickup
• Individual race packets containing your race bib, t-shirt, etc… will be ready for pick-up Friday evening in Gilford (location and time TBD) or at the race start (exact location and time TBD) early Saturday morning – more details to come… please monitor this website
• To minimize the overall time it will take to put on this event, the race this year is open only to runners who can complete the 5K course in less than 40 minutes
• The official time clock will be stopped 40 minutes after the start, so that we may focus on posting results and cleaning & sanitizing the area
• This will be a mass-start event, with runners staged 6 feet apart behind the starting line, and lining up in anticipated finish order
o We appreciate every runner’s cooperation and honesty to help us keep everybody safely distanced at the starting line, and also to minimize the occurrence of runners passing one another out on the course
o There will be signage to help determine where you should start based on your expected finish time
o We anticipate the finish times will range from about 16 mins to 40 minutes
• Cloth Face Coverings are required for all participants and staff, before and after the race, when it is impossible to stay 6 feet apart
• Face Coverings are not required by runners during the race, or during warm-up / cool-down
• When passing another runner, please alert the other runner with “On your left!” or “On your right!” before passing them, and then leave 6 feet between you as you pass
• There will be no water stops on the race course. Runners are encouraged to hydrate appropriately, using their own drinks and containers, before and after the race
• Results will be available on the GNA website (www.gunstocknordic.com) shortly after the event and emailed to all participants
• This is a Certified 5K Race Course – NH95009WN
• Please note: Registration is limited to the first 100 people to register and will close when we reach 100 registrants
• There are very few road races happening this summer, so the race may fill up quickly
