Event Description

Please join the GE Women’s Network in its nationwide annual scholarship fundraiser for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) by participating in the SWE Scholarship Millie Dresselhaus Virtual Race.  This 5K, Run/Walk virtual race may be completed anywhere and at any hour from November 1 to November 14th.

Join your local GEWN hub’s team and get credit for your GEWN Region (South, East, West or Central). This race is open to EVERYONE, including non-GE employees so invite your family and friends in a regional rivalry contest to see who can get the most participants and who can raise the most donations! When you sign up, 100% of the registration fee is donated to SWE so we can really make an impact. Don’t want to race but want to support your Regional Team? No problem! Additional donations are encouraged and will help your Region to win the Top Fundraising Award, and don’t forget to utilize GE Matching to double your impact!

Need more incentive? There will be 2 regional winners, Top Fundraising and Top Participation.  These winners will receive a 3-D file to enable printing of a specially designed Millie Dresselhaus medal.  In addition every participant that completes the race will receive a Mille Dresselhaus completion certificate! 

GEWN regional hubs will be racing to the top of leaderboard.  We encourage each individual hub to recruit a team of at least 20 participants, but we are confident that some hubs will surprise us. Let’s aim for raising enough money for 20 scholarships… goal is $100,000!
