Event Description

The 43rd Annual Four Mile Road Race


The race is under the direction of Main Street Batesville, a non-profit organization, certified by the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program and the Main Street America national association. Main Street Batesville is not a funded agency of the city or county, or state. The organization runs on the work of our volunteers, and on funds donated by our partners -- local businesses and citizens who have the same goal as we do: a thriving downtown. 
Parking:
There is ample parking in the area. Parking lots along the Main Street area will be marked with signs. 

Start/Finish: 
The race will begin at 8am
The race begins at the intersection of Water Street and Broad Street. The race will end at Maxfield Park. 

Timing:
Chip Timing will be provided by Agee Race Timing

Race Route: 
The route has been changed to avoid face to face runner encounters along the course. (see course map) The course will be partially closed to vehicular traffic. 

Packet Pick Up: 
Early Packet Pick up will be at the Tomahawk Chop located at 177 E Main Street in downtown Batesville on Friday, 09/10, 4PM - 7PM.
Race Day packet pickup will be held at Maxfield Park starting at 6:30 AM on Saturday morning (09/11).
Registration: 
Cost:  $35 until 08/26/2021  (with shirt)    $25 after 08/26/2021 (no shirt guaranteed)
Register by August 26th to receive a great Poke Bayou 4 Mile shirt. Registrations received after that date will may not receive a shirt due to time constraints required to order and produce them, so register early! 
Registration ends Wednesday, September 8th! 
Race day registration will be available from 6:30-7:30am.  No race day registrations will be available after 7:30am, no exceptions. 
Cancellation Policy: 
If the race is cancelled all entries will be deferred to the 2022 race. Sorry, no refunds. 
Miscellaneous: 
This race is part of the Big Fun on the Bayou Festival. Festival activities will be planned for Friday evening 9/10 and all-day Saturday 9/11. Stay and enjoy the festivities our wonderful downtown Main Street will have to offer. Proceeds will be donated to the Poke Bayou Foundation and a local organization that assist veterans with mental illness.  
ADVERSE WEATHER POLICY
We expect our events to happen rain or shine. No one, including the Race Director, wants to make changes to an event on race day. However, the safety of our participants is of paramount concern. In the event of adverse weather conditions, the Race Director, in communication with the local law enforcement and the city, may delay the event, cancel the event, or make changes to the race course.
DEFINITION OF ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
The event may be delayed or canceled due to Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, Heavy Rain, or any other extreme weather condition. Light to moderate rain is not considered an Adverse Weather Condition.
COMMUNICATION
If the event is canceled more than 12 hours before the event, we will notify participants via the race website, email and social media. If the event is canceled less than 12 hours before the event we will notify participants via the race website and social media. Participants will be notified via email where they can pick up their race packets if they have not already done so.
REFUNDS
Refunds are not issued for events canceled for Adverse Weather Conditions as the funds for the event have already been spent in preparation for race day.
