Event Description

Stow Bike for the Woods is a family-friendly bike ride on the roads of Stow and surrounding towns, in lengths ranging from 5 to 64 miles. Most rides are marked on the road and all include cue sheets. The shorter rides tend to be easier and the longer ones more challenging. Proceeds go to the Stow Conservation Trust which helps preserve open space in this beautiful town.

 

Event starts at 9am, with registration opening at 8:30am.  Fees are $20 per adult and $15 per child age 12 and under, maximum $50 per family. (On the day of the ride, fees are $25 per adult, $15 per child, with a maximum of $55 per family.)

 

We'll follow pandemic rules at the time for these kinds of events. Please bring a mask to wear at the start and maintain 6-foot distancing.

Event details and schedule

The event is Sunday morning, August 29th, starting at 9am at the Lower Common, 113 Great Road, Stow, MA.  (If you've ridden this event before, the site is about a mile east of the usual starting line.) There is plenty of parking in the Shaw's Plaza and bathrooms will be available at Dunkin Donuts and Emma's Cafe. Registration starts at 8:30am.

 

Please bring a mask in case state regulations require it at that time.

 

If not pre-registered, cash and checks will be accepted at the registration table. Sorry, no debit or credit cards accepted on the day of the ride.

 

We will have our usual assortment of awesome food and drinks at the start, including bagels, bananas, baked goods and world-famous Stow cider donuts, as well as coffee and water. These are all thanks to our wonderful sponsors, including Trader Joe's, Starbucks, Emma's Cafe, Honey Pot Orchard, and Carver Hill Orchard.

Ride could cancel in the event of dangerous weather. If so a cancellation notice will be posted on bikeforthewoods.org by 6am on the day of the ride.
