Event Description

Have you thought about how important chickens are? Chickens (and roosters) are easy to raise, give us eggs and make great pets! They come in lots of different colors! Mennonite Central Committee personnel assist families in raising flocks of chickens. MCC works with local Co-Operative groups and offers the broods of chickens for sale. Families invest in the brood and sell eggs to increase their income. Not only does the family have eggs to cook with, they can sell the extra eggs. Help MCC invest in families this year.

For those of you who have younger children who want to support MCC OR ‘yee of low commitment’ the 1K Fun Run is for you! This event will not be timed, and no awards will be given to those who finish first, middle or last. Everyone who participates in this event will receive a t-shirt.

The 1K and 5K Run will be starting at the Wayne County Event Center on Saturday, August 7th. The 1 K will start at 7:30 AM, followed by the 5K kicking off at 8:00 AM. Every participant will receive a t-shirt and the top 6 overall runners will receive an award. Age awards will also be given. Sign up today on this site. All proceeds will be given to MCC to purchase broods of chickens. Registration fees will be paid by the participant.
