Why Run or Walk In This Event?

The Run For Recovery 5K Run & 2K Walk is a fund raising event to support the Union Mission.  You don't have to be a runner to participate as we have a 2K (which is 1.2 miles) walk.   You can participate either as an individual or consider making or joining a non-competitive "Spirit Team"!  This is a family friendly event that will be fun for all ages and abilities,  from runners who want to improve their 5K time to those who just enjoy a brisk or leisurely walk!

Consider Organizing A "Spirit Team" of Family,  Friends,  Co-Workers, Fellow Church Members...IT'S FUN!  (Spirit Teams are not competitive,  just FUN!)   It's our lowest rate to participate!

What Is A "Spirit Team"? It's any group of 2 or more people who want to support the Union Mission of Fairmont by participating in the Run For Recovery 5K Run or the 2K Walk on August 21ST.   Your Spirit Team members will each get a FREE T-Shirt and FREE entry into Run For Recovery with a donation to the Union Mission of only $25 per Spirit Team member. (plus online transaction fees)  Hurry this is a limited time offer!

How Do I Make A Spirit Team or Join A Spirit Team?  It's super easy, just go to our "Register Now" button , select the event you wish to participate in and when you fill out the form you will see these options:

 

If you wish to join an existing team, click on "Join A Team".   If you want to create a team click on "Create A Team" just follow the directions from that point and you are good to go!  Of course joining or creating a Spirit Team is completely optional, but you do save $5. Awesome!

Race/Walk Date &Time:

Saturday, August 21st at 9am.  Event will be held rain or shine!

Location:

Starts and finishes at the Union Mission, 107 Jefferson Street in downtown Fairmont.

Donation/Entry Fee Schedule: 

All registration is now conducted online and will close online at 12Noon on Friday, August 20th-  Late Registration will be taken on race day Saturday, August 21st  at the run/walk location at 107 Jefferson Street starting at 7:45am (Sorry, but shirts will not be available for late registrants) Please register before August 7th if possible!  Thank you.

Online Donation/Entry Fee Now through August 14th-Please note we are offering the No Shirt option this year.  Please note all entry fees increase $5 starting August 14th.  Register Early, form a team and SAVE!

$30.00 — 5K Run/Walk with shirt included (plus processing fee)

$20.00 — 5K Run/Walk with NO shirt included (plus processing fee)

 

$25.00 — 2K Run/Walk with shirt included (plus processing fee)

 

$15.00 — 2K Run/Walk with NO shirt included (plus processing fee)

 

TEAM ENTRY SPECIAL ONLY YOU WILL GET A $5 DISCOUNT  (Choose either "Join A Team" or "Create A Team" to get the discounted rate! )

 

RACE DAY LATE  REGISTRATION ON AUGUST 21ST:    $35.00 -5K Run or 2K Walk.  Accepted from 7:45am to 8:30am only. Sorry no team discounts on race day.   Cash or check only payable to: West Virginia Rescue Ministries.  Sorry shirts not guaranteed for race day sign ups.   Please register online before August 7th to get a shirt!

 

Awards:

For the 5K there will be awards for the top 3 overall finishers both male and female as well as the top 3 in each age group both male and female.
5K Age Groups are: (Separate Male and Female) 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & up.   All 2K Walkers/Joggers/Kids Runners will get a finisher ribbon!!

The 5K (3.1 Mile) course .   VIEW INTERACTIVE COURSE  MAP

The 2K (1.2) course resembles the first 1.2 miles of the 5K course.

Early Packet Pick Up will be held on Friday, August 21st from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
