It is reported that 150,000 people are diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia (TN) every year. Trigeminal neuralgia is a chronic pain condition that affects the trigeminal nerve, which carries sensation from your face to your brain. If you have trigeminal neuralgia, even mild stimulation of your face — such as from brushing your teeth or putting on makeup — may trigger a jolt of excruciating pain. Although trigeminal neuralgia cannot always be cured, there are treatments available to alleviate the debilitating pain. Normally, anticonvulsive medications are the first treatment choice. Surgery can be an effective option for those who become unresponsive to medications or for those who suffer serious side effects from the medications.
All donations will be made to The Facial Pain Research Foundation who is actively working to find a cure for Trigeminal Neuralgia. https://facingfacialpain.org
