Event Description
ATTENTION WITCHES AND WIZARDS! Grab your wand, hop on your broom, and join us for the 2nd Annual Wizard Run and Festival in Downtown Springfield, Missouri! Take a magical journey through the city with wizardly sights and sounds along the way! Distances include a 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run. This 5K course begins and ends at Park Central Square. After the run, stick around for the post-race festival where you'll enjoy music, food vendors, and craft vendors. Costumes are highly encouraged!
Participants of the 5K will receive a one of kind event shirt in the color of their choice: RED, GREEN, YELLOW, or BLUE *, a spectacular FINISHER MEDAL, a custom WAND (chosen at packet pick-up), a commemorative race bib, FREE BUTTERSCOTCH SODA at the finish line, and access to the post-race festival! *Shirt color choices will only be available until October 15. After October 15, shirts will be issued on a first come, first serve basis.
Participants of the 1 Mile Fun Run will receive a one of kind event shirt in the color of their choice: RED, GREEN, YELLOW, or BLUE, a custom WAND (chosen at packet pick-up), a FREE BUTTERSCOTCH SODA at the finish line, and access to the post-race festival.
POST RACE FESTIVAL: The run/walk will funnel right into the post-race festival, which will include lots of craft and food vendors, all selling wizardly inspired items.

Awards:
5 year age category increments! Prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female in the 5K. Age category awards will be given for the following age categories: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

A professional photographer will be there to capture your finish. All photographs are free to download!
Virtual 5K Option Available!
Runners who can't attend race day can REGISTER for the Virtual 5K. Virtual participants are not eligible for overall or age category awards. Virtual participant directions:
Run your virtual race distance anytime during the month of October.
On or after race day (October 23), post your time result on either the Wizard Run Facebook event page or Wizard Run Instagram page.
Our staff will then mail the virtual race packet. Virtual runner packets will include event t-shirt, custom wand, custom finisher medal, and race bib.
FAQ:
1. Are strollers allowed on course?
Yes! Please feel free to take your little one/s along for the run.
2. Is this a pet friendly event?
Absolutely! Well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed on the race course.
3. Can I walk the race?
Of course! This is a family oriented event with a great mix of walkers and runners.
4. Will the race be cancelled if the weather is bad?
We will run rain or shine, wet or dry! Only in the event of severe weather including lightning will we postpone the start until the weather has passed.
5. Is there a course limit for the 5K?
Yes, 90 minutes.
