Event Description

Come join us for the Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021 at 9:00am. The race is conveniently located next to Albemarle High School. The course will be held on local neighborhood Lambs Rd and Ivy Ridge Rd. It consists of flat stretches and mild rolling hills with a total elevation gain of 73 feet. The exact starting and finishing line are to be determined and it will have a wave start. Ample parking will be available at Albemarle High School, Jack Jouett Middle School and Greer Elementary.

Race registration is $35 before October 25 and goes up to $40 on October 25. Registration includes a soft technical race t-shirt comfortable for running or wearing casually. Our race beneficiary is the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank which services the Central Virginia area and is an affiliate of the national food bank, Feeding America.

Each Charlottesville Turkey Trot wave time slot will be limited to 100, allowing a rolling start. This provides the option to be physically distanced or start with those you wish to run/walk with in your wave. You just have to begin your race within 5 minutes after your starting wave time.

PACKET PICKUP: 
Saturday Nov. 20 (9:00-2pm), Monday-Tuesday Nov. 22-23 (8:00am-7pm) and Wednesday Nov. 24 (8:00am-2:30pm) at Move Better Physical Therapy, 285 Hydraulic Ridge Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22901 (across from Albemarle High School). If you sign up by Monday, November 1 (11:59pm), you can guarantee a race t-shirt and may also choose to have your race packet shipped directly to you for an extra $5. If you are racing the 5k Live, you will need to pick up your race number at Packet Pickup prior to race day since these will have timing strips on them.

Your race number must be pinned (in all four corners) to the outside layer of your front, so as to properly trigger your chip. If you have multiple members of your family running, please make sure that you each wear the correct number (your names are on the back of each number).

We are excited to have chip timing, thanks to our friends at Blue Ridge Timing. Both overall and age group results will be provided. We will not post the results until the last finisher has completed the event. Age groups are as follows: 10 & younger, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.   

We will have porta-johns at the race site for your convenience. 

Local Albemarle EMT medical services will be on site. We are grateful for their volunteer help and appreciate all those who will be helping to safely guide you throughout your race experience.
