Event Description

On June 11th, 2021 nine year old Brady Martin was diagnosed with Leukemia. Brady’s Leukemia is genetic and extremely rare, he is one of only 64 kids worldwide that has been diagnosed with this Leukemia in the past 20 years. . 

Brady is a twin, an older brother to a seven-year-old sister, and one year old baby brother. Brady’s twin, Blake, wanted to try and run/walk in the Columbus Half Marathon this fall to show his support for his brother (the proceeds from this race benefit Children’s Hospital). Unfortunately, you must be twelve to participate in the half marathon. To help Blake show his support for his brother and help him find purpose in this scary and confusing time we have decided to help Blake bring a 5k and a mile fun run to Canal Winchester so that he, and all their friends, can show Brady that they are here for him. 

Brady has a heart of gold and has decided that when faced with hard times he will find light in helping others, so he decided to start a nonprofit called "Way to Battle". Brady and his siblings, Blake and Aubrey, are now on a mission to help support not only children going through a life altering diagnosis but to also provide comfort and support to their siblings- as they have all felt the impact of Brady's diagnosis in different ways. With the money raised from the 5k and mile fun run, Brady, Blake and Aubrey will be purchasing "Battle Pups" to pass out to patients and their siblings to help provide them with a comfort stuffed animal to name and cuddle during the good times and the bad. 

Now is our chance to show Brady just how big his army is support his nonprofit.
