Event Description
ASH 5K Run for Your Life is for all ASH regular and temporary employees. The event will take place October 29th - 31st. Let's walk or run and have fun! You can even get in the spirit by wearing a costume, and/or carving a pumpkin to haul at the 5K.

It's not a race!
What matters is your participation. Whether you take a casual walk or run at a record-breaking pace what is important is that you have fun and you try to challenge yourself to do a little more than usual. If you want to challenge others to make it more competitive, we definitely encourage you to do that too! Come join us for our first-ever Wellness Week Festival, a series of live-streaming workouts that will qualify you for some exciting prizes to be raffled off.
It's a virtual 5K
Walk or run a 5K course of your choice and at your convenience between October 29th - 31st, at any hour of the day (or night!) You can walk or run during your break, lunch period, before or after your regularly scheduled shift. You can choose a course in your neighborhood, favorite beach, or trail. You can also walk or run the 3.1 mile distance on your treadmill, in your living room, backyard, or even your swimming pool (some have done it!).

We've created an ASH 5K Run for Your Life & Wellness Week Teams channel. We encourage you to join in and get engaged with other participants. You can cheer, encourage, or challenge them. You can also ask questions about the event. We'd also love it if you could post videos and images of you showcasing your carved pumpkin and unveiling your Halloween costume.
Participate in the FUN!
The ASH 5k is coming up and the SAC committee is sponsoring a pumpkin carving contest and a costume contest to celebrate the fun! There will be prizes for the most "liked" pumpkin photos and costumes posted on the ASH Events Teams Channel. Carve or decorate a pumpkin, take a selfie with your carved pumpkin and submit on the Teams channel to be entered into the contest before November 3rd. The images with the most "likes" on the channel will win, with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners awarded in the form of Amazon Gift Cards. It is sure to be a "gourd" ole time!
Get even more into the spirit by dressing up in your favorite costume for our annual Halloween Costume Contest! Maybe even make it a virtual group effort!?! Let's see who has the most fun, innovative, and spooky costumes. Post your photo (or video) on the Teams Channel to be entered into the contest. Prizes will be awarded for best costume – 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize.

Charities and Goodies
When you're active, you are doing good for your own wellbeing. For this event, we want to make sure that your hard work will also benefit someone else. We are partnering with the American Heart Association charity. Together we can make a huge impact in the lives of others, who need help!
Every 5k finisher that submits their results in RunSignUp, can elect one of the options below:
1. No t-shirt and maximize ASH's donation to a charity of choice.
2. Get a t-shirt and ASH will still make a smaller donation on your behalf.
