Dear families of PS 199,

You are invited to our SPRING PS 199 Virtual 5K! You can walk, run, jog, hike or bike on your own, with friends and family at any place and time!  Our GOAL here is to raise over $10,000 for PS 199 to fund programs, activities, staff, supplies and technology for our school community. 

Dates and Locations

The 5K (3.1 miles) will take place between May 15th through June 15th. Participants are welcome to complete at any time and place. 

How can you participate?

Anyone can join! Students, families and friends of PS 199 can take part in the 5K by:

• Sponsoring a student, or adult, or even a teacher

• Share the donation link on your social media outlets and encourage friends to sponsor your student

• Gather your friends and family to participate

• Do it as a class! 

Steps:

• Early Bird Fee: The fee is $25 per participant until May 14th. The fee goes up to $30 per participant after.

• Run, jog, hike or walk the 5k. You can do this over various days too!

• Take photos or videos at the start, along the way and at the finish. Hashtag #PS1995K on your social media.

• Donate!

     

Prize

The winning class that has the highest number of participants will get a Pizza Party to celebrate!

Your support and enthusiasm is important and much needed to the success of our school community. We appreciate your time and let's do this!

FAQ

When does the 5K Event Start/End? This is a virtual race so you can complete your distance anywhere and anytime from May 15th to June 15th!

Can I do the 5K over multiple days? YES! If you want to break it break it up over several days.

Can I walk? YES! This event is for all levels of abilities: Run, walk, jog, skip, hike or bike.

How much of the fee is donated? 100% of the proceeds will be donated to PS 199. This funds our Music, New York Scholastic Chess Club, Center for Architecture Architecture Foundation, New York Philharmonic School Partnership Program, National Dance Institute, Wingspan Arts
NY Sunworks (Science Center) and Hydroponic Garden, Teachers and etc.

What does Early Bird pricing mean? If you register between May 15th and 21st, the fee is $25 per participant. Registration fee goes up after.

What is the Processing Fee? The fee covers the credit card transaction when you register for this event. 

What if I have more than one child at PS 199 that is participating?  During registration, you can select multiple teachers from the list. 

Can I invite friends and relatives? YES! Share the information with them and have FUN!
