Event Description

We're back for Project ECHO's 10th annual Turkey Trot!

For year 10, we're taking you into the fields and wooded trails of The Calverton School in Huntingtown, MD. This course is both beautiful and exciting and will accommodate runners and walkers of all ages. For those friends and relatives who say they can't do a 5K, tell them no worries! We have a 1K that will have everyone feeling like an athlete, or at the very least, feeling less like a stuffed turkey at the end of the day.

This event will take place at The Calverton School. 300 Calverton School Rd. Huntingtown MD 20639.

Walk-in registration and pre-registration check-in and packet pick-ups will take place at Project ECHO Thrift & Gift Shop. 885 Main St. Prince Frederick, MD 20678 (only half of a mile south of the shelter).

 

Pre-Registration Dates & Details:

Nov. 18: Early Bird discount ends at 11:59 pm.

Nov. 21: "Timed Participant" online registration closes at 11:59 pm.

Nov. 23 "Untimed Participant" online registration closes at 11:59 pm.

 

New Location for walk-in registration and packet pick-ups:

Project ECHO Thrift & Gift Shop, 885 Main St. Prince Frederick, MD

 

If you pre-register for a timed category and/or reserve a t-shirt during registration, you may pick up your race bib early and avoid the race-day 6:00am check-in line. T-shirts are very limited this year in both quantity and sizes. It is strongly suggested that you reserve a t-shirt during online registration.

Nov. 23: 10am - 6pm walk-in registration and pre-registration pick-ups @ Thrift Shop (885 Main St.)

Nov. 24: 3pm - 6pm walk-in registration and pre-registration pick-ups @ Thrift Shop (885 Main St.)

Race Day Schedule:

6:00 am - 6:50 am: Arrive, park (please car-pool if applicable), register or check-in (if applicable) warm-up, line up.

6:00 am: On-site registration and pre-registration check-in and packet pick-up opens at 6.

7:00 am: Start Time. Runners in front, strollers/walkers in back.

8:00 am: (Approximate) Awards ceremony for the top 3 males and females in each age category.

 

Race Course:

5K: This course runs through fields and wooded trails and will present a fun new challenge for Turkey Trotters. This is suitable for adults and children, running and walking, timed and untimed participants. The exact course map will be available before the race. 

1K: This secondary course is for those who prefer more consistent terrain and a shorter distance. This is suitable for adults and children of all abilities. This is untimed. The exact course map will be available before the race.

 

 

Additional Details:

Complimentary light refreshments will be available before and after the race.

Port-o-pottys will be available near the start/finish line.

Complete race results will be posted online at www.projectECHO.net as soon as they are available.

Participants who place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their age group will receive a medal after the race. Winner medals can also be picked up after Monday, Nov. 29. To arrange pick-ups please email ECHOdevelopment@comcast.net.
