Event Description

Stomp The Stigma, Inc. is a newly founded non-profit organization by your Miss Indiana America's Select Veteran 2022.  

Suicide accounts for 22% of Veteran deaths, why?  We are brought up in a culture of "drive on" and "seeking help is weak", which is simply not true.  The stronger the mind, the stronger the Soldier/Sailor/Marine/Airman/Coastie.  How do we fix this?  We have to change the culture and 'Stomp The Stigma' behind seeking help for mental health.  Our aim is to provide a singular place to list all the resources available to Veterans seeking mental health help.  We do mean ALL the resources; non-profits, counseling, DAV, VA, etc.  

Events like these help raise money to get that started, organize Veteran only meet up events, and contribute to established non-profits that support the mission of Veteran mental health.  This 5K is supporting Stop Soldier Suicide, a veteran run non-profit organization that provides One-On-One Assessments, Veteran–Centered Action Plans, Individualized Tools & Solutions, Follow–Up Care & Long–Term Assistance.

The location listed is the Soldiers & Sailors Monument in Downtown Indianapolis but this is a virtual event.
