Event Description

Come run with us for the inaugural event through some of the most beautiful, steep, rocky, and challenging trails within the city limits of San Diego. Whether this is your first trail run or ultra-race, everyone will find fulfillment and satisfaction at the Black Mountain 50k / 25k. With over 4,000 feet of elevation gain and a mixture of technical single track and jeep trails, this race is very challenging even for the veteran ultra-runner.

Starting at Hilltop Park runners climb to the top of little black loop trail and run through the beautiful trails within Black Mountain Open Space. Crossing over towards the west of the mountain down Miners Loop trail and down Lilac trail until reaching Black Mountain Ranch Park. From here runners will begin the Lusardi Loop trail. The 25k will turn around at this point, while the 50k continues eastward completing the entire loop.

After completing the loop, start the climb to the summit of Black Mountain. Then, dart back all the way back down to the starting point at Hilltop Park, where food, drinks, friends and music will be awaiting you.
