Event Description

Our family created the Robertson Family Scholarship Foundation in 2019 with the hopes of giving back to students in need in our community. The scholarship was started in memory of our Dad, William Robertson who sadly passed away in 2008. Our Dad was a Navy veteran and a dedicated NYPD detective who greatly cared for the people in his community. He believed that education was the most important thing and strongly encouraged all of his children to further their educations. He would be so happy to see that his legacy has lived on through this scholarship. We think of this race as a great way to get all of our friends and family together to celebrate our Dad's life for a great cause.

Since 2019 our family has been able to provide 8 scholarships to students in need. All of the recipients had lost either one or both parents during their time in school and needed additional assistance. The students have been able to reach out to us to tell us their stories and were all so appreciative when we met them to present them with their scholarship. The best part of presenting these scholarships is getting to meet the students and encourage them along with all of their future plans. This scholarship allows for them to continue on in their education journey and reduces some of the burden on their families. 

We thank all of you who sign up for the run and donate to our scholarship, because of all of you we are able to support students who truly need and appreciate our help. And we thank you for helping us to honor our Dad!
