Event Description

For the past 26 years, the Kiwanis Club of North Shore Long Island has conducted the Nassau to Suffolk Bicycle Challenge on Long Island now renamed as the Nassau Bicycle Challenge.  The event was begun by Tom DeStio, whose son was born prematurely and with multiple health issues.  He was taken care of in the Critical Care Unit of the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center (KPTC) in Cohen Children’s Medical Center, now located in New Hyde Park.  When Tom joined Kiwanis, he realized that it was the perfect venue for facilitating his “giving back”.  He and his family have been involved ever since.

Enjoy some of the best riding the North Shore of LI has to offer.  You will hug the coast and see some of the most impressive views of The Long Island Sound. This ride will offer a few good climbs and some fast straightaways with one rest stop with water, snacks and comfort station. When you return to the parking lot, you will be greeted with warm smiles, water and snacks.
