Event Description

Presented by True Patriots Care, the Officer Down Tribute Run/Walk is a 5K starting and ending at Panton Mill Park at 10 N. Water Street in South Elgin.  The out and back course is along the picturesque running path adjacent the Fox River.

The event honors the 1154 Illinois police officers including 16 K-9s  who made the ultimate sacrifice for the residents of Illinois.

The event will be led by Zechariah of Running 4 Heroes.  Zechariah has become known nationally for his mission to raise awareness and funds for those fallen in the line of duty.
Zechariah Cartledge was born with the gift of running.  He was raised with an appreciation for first responders and all they do for the community.  As he grew older, Zechariah decided to help the families of our fallen first responders.

This event is held in conjunction with other events held from May 19th to May 22nd including a Flags of Honor field with 1154 flags placed at Panton Mill Park representing every lost officer, a Candlelight Vigil, a Police Pipe Band and a Ride to Remember Motorcycle Run.

The 5K will benefit the Illinois Concerns Of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) and the 100 Club of Illinois

The 5K will be held rain or shine.   Early packet pickup will be held Friday, May 20th from 3pm to 6:30pm at Panton Mill Park.
