Event Description

PUC CHALLENGE, supporting Hat Creek Camp.

PUC Challenge is a solo, 2 person, 3 person or 4 person 12 hour event that combines trail running/hiking, mountain biking, kayaking/paddle boarding/canoeing, orienteering, rucking, unique team challenges and lots of memories throughout the 350 acre property, with proceeds supporting Hat Creek Camp.  Whether an experienced athlete or a beginner, we've got a challenge for you. This event is designed to offer a progressive level-up process throughout the 12 hours, with buy-ins throughout the event.  Perfect if you want to push yourself but not sure you are ready. Feel like you are finished at 4, 6, or 8 hours and think 12 hours is not in the engine? Cool, then call it a day, but stick around and enjoy camp and encourage others.  But know that we feel you can do it and we want you to feel accomplished.

Race Structure

3 phased race.  Phase 1(approximately 3 hours) involves team challenges with groups working together to complete physical/mental tasks.  Participants will engage in weighted ruck challenges while orienteering to specific checkpoints throughout the camp property.   Phase 2 includes typical adventure race activities, including trekking, orienteering, biking, paddling to designated checkpoints to collect necessary items for completion of tasks to clear the course.  Phase 3 involves multiple lap choices for points for the remaining time until the 12 your cut-off.  1 point deduction for each minute over the 12 hour limit.  Individual and team with the most points collected wins.
