Event Description
The best and coolest trail race in Carolina Beach is back and better than ever!
Join us Father's Day Weekend (June 18th) for the 6th edition of the Good Hops “Will Run for Beer” trail race followed by post race festivities honoring Dad at the brewery! This 5k(ish) beer run will start at Good Hops Brewing & run through the trails in Carolina Beach State Park. All registered runners who register for the race on or before Monday, June 13th will receive an official race t-shirt. You do not want to miss out on this rad tee. Runners will also receive the official Good Hops 5k Beer Run pint tumbler, and runners over 21 years old will receive a ticket good for one pint of tasty Good Hops brew. We love dogs, but we ask you not to run with your canine friend as it may be hot out on race day, and we want to keep them healthy. This run is in the state park so you can expect soft sand, roots, rocks, and uneven ground. If you choose to run with a stroller, do so understanding that the trail may get rough. Not a runner? Walk the course! Or, be an athletic supporter and meet the owners and employees of Good Hops Brewing who bring fresh-brewed beer to Carolina Beach!

Super Rad Awards will be handed out for the following categories:
1st Place Male/Female Overall
1st Place Masters Male/Female over 55
1st Place Dad/Kid Combo – dubbed the Dad of the Day! (please note, dad and kid must cross the finish line at the same time. That’s the point, right…run together! No age restriction of kid.)
1st Place Military – We want to honor those that serve for all of us!
1st Place kid age 12 and under
Packet Pickup
Race Packet pick-up will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:30 Friday evening at Good Hops. If you are unable to make it, packet pickup will continue between 8:30 and 9:40 on Saturday, race day morning.
Race Course
The race course is 100% in the Carolina Beach State Park on natural trail. Bug spray may not be a bad idea because sometimes the biting flies are out this time of year. Also, this run is a “fun” run so make sure you run/walk within yourself as it may be hot and humid. A water station will be approximately at the half way point of the race.
Parking
Island Men will once again assist with parking on race morning. There should be plenty of parking in the Good Hops lot and on the shoulder along Harper on the Good Hops side of the road.
NOTE: Registration is not a guarantee for a t-shirt. T-shirt cut off is Monday, June 13th. All registrants will receive a pint tumbler and (if 21+ yrs old) a beer ticket.
