Event Description

Run at the City of the Sun! Join us for the annual Cahokia Mounds City of the Sun 5k Trail Run. On November 6 at 9 am, we'll be kicking off this yearly race through the grounds of Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site. Run through the forest on some of the lesser known trails and in between the mounds as you take in our beautiful site. Each registration comes with a commemorative shirt.

Not all trails are paved, so be prepared for a little mud!

Event details and schedule

Run will occur rain or shine, may be canceled in case of lightning. Registration fees are final, no refunds. Dogs will not be allowed. Some areas of the trails are not suitable for strollers. This trail winds through several cultural/natural features of the site. Parts of the trail are in wooded areas; expect uneven surfaces and mud if it is wet. Check our facebook page for any last minute updates. Trail subject to change, as determined by director. Limitless Chiropractic will provide pre- and post-run muscle work. Additionally, Riv Kane will lead a yoga session at 8 am, an hour before the race.
