Event Description
We at the Wentworth Institute of Science and Health believe in investing in the future of science. We believe the best way to do that is to bring the community together in hopes of achieving that goal. The net profits from this event will go toward High School scholarships for students heading into STEM majors and grants to further develop the careers of current STEM undergraduate and graduate students. Come join us for our 5K celebration of STEM and stick around for a sip of wine afterwards, because everything's better with some wine in the belly.

Event details and schedule
IN-PERSON
5K starts at 2pm on 10/16 at Etowah River Park. Day-of packet pick-up and registration will start at 1pm.
Pre-packet pick-up will be at Big Peach Running Co. in Kennesaw. Time and date TBD.
The race is on a USATF Certified course, is super fast, and can be used for Peachtree Race qualification.
Plenty of FREE parking at the park.
ALL IN-PERSON PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A CUSTOM FINISHER MEDAL, SHIRT, AND WINE GLASS!
Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male and female, and top 3 masters male and female.
All in-person participants 21 and over will also receive a glass of wine at the race! (MUST be 21 and over, and I.D. will be checked)
This run is part of the 2022 Run and See Georgia Grand Prix.

Complete your 5k any time from 10/1 to 10/16 and submit your time using the instructions below.
Virtual participants will recieve a custom finisher medal and shirt!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR VIRTUAL RUN TIME SUBMISSION
Submit your final time anytime between 10/1 and 10/16 follow the steps below in order to be included in the results.
1. Run or walk a 5K anywhere - even on a treadmill. (If you are running/walking outside, please make sure you follow all local, state and federal COVID-19 guidelines and mandates!)
2. Take a picture of your time/distance. Record your time by using Strava, Garmin, Mapmyrun, or even a picture of your watch or treadmill display. As long as we can see your distance / time, you are good!
3. Email your proof to runningmanwest@bellsouth.net within the time window posted above. (Times submitted outside of this window will not count.)
4. Please include your full name in the email. ***VERY IMPORTANT*** In the subject line of your email, please put "Wine Stem 5K Results Submission" This will help us know which event you are participating in. Results will be posted on 10/17
