Event Description
Come celebrate the OSU football season opener against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and join us for the first annual Buckeyes for Life 5K presented by Guinness. This event is sure to get your attention as runners and walkers will gather together at FADO Pub & Kitchen (Dublin) just prior to a 3.1 mile race. The event will take place on Thursday, September 1st at 7pm.
ABOUT THE RACE
Welcome Buckeye Fans (OK.... Irish fans also welcome) to a special 5K event designed for anyone interested in fun, exercise, meeting new friends and celebrating the start of the 2022 Ohio State Buckeye Football season vs the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Hosted by FADO Pub & Kitchen your evening will consist of a pre-event gathering at FADO (Dublin) where hundreds of Buckeyes will assemble before taking this 5K (3.1 mile) challenge. Out of shape? Don't worry as we anticipate many proud Buckeyes will choose to walk or jog at a leisurely pace. Proceeds of the event will be donated to the following charities: "On Our Sleeves" and "Beyond the Goal Line". Presented by Guinness.
SWAG
All participants will be receiving an awesome event shirt you will be proud to wear on race day and beyond. Additionally, runners and walkers receive a custom finisher medal with ribbon, beverage glass with logo, and a complimentary beer or soft drink compliments of FADO and Guinness. All runners and walkers will also be issued a special race number (bib) that will electronically record your finish time. There will be food and drink specials including a Roe&Co surprise!
LOGISITCS
NOTE: ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST PICKUP THEIR RACE PACKETS INCLUDING SHIRT AND RACE NUMBER ON RACE DAY FROM 5:00PM-6:45PM.
WHERE:FADO PUB AND KITCHEN LOCATED AT BRIDGE PARK IN DUBLIN. 6652 RIVERSIDE DRIVE. 614-408-1500.
Participants must arrive at FADO Pub & Kitchen to pick up race packets between 5:00-6:45pm for a 7pm race start. We suggest you arrive early for a little pre-race fun inside FADO. Make sure you attach your race number to the front of your shirt. Pins will be provided! Give yourself plenty of time to march to the starting line located just down from FADO.
This event will be star studded and there will be some former OSU players in attendance. We can't think of a better way for everyone to kick off the football season than this fun 5K.
The 5K will be staged at FADO Pub & Kitchen is celebration of the Buckeye Brotherhood and soon to be launched published book; "A Brotherhood for Eternity"-"Buckeyes for Life II."
A portion of the proceeds from the race will be donated to the Christina and Ryan Day Fund at "On Our Sleeves" and to "Beyond the Goal Line".
This event is presented by Guinness with additional support from Roe&Co Irish Whiskey.
