Event Description

"See a sunrise with majestic views of the San Francisco Bay Area, cycle through wooded hills, regional parks, and our very own wine country."

Our BOB ride has grown. We now offer an official CTC double century and a single century option.  Both rides start and finish in Castro Valley, California.

Our double century route has three segments on which we include an experience filled with many of the best and most memorable cycling roads offered in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The first loop has many small climbs and descents heading North to Grizzly Peak and back; very memorable for its rural beauty and panaoramic sunrise views of the SF Bay. The second section climbs and descends Mt. Diablo - the hardest part of the route.  The last half of the ride travels through three other great cycling offerings in the Bay Area: Calaveras Road, the Livermore vineyards, and the Mt. Diablo foothills. The final 60 miles are less demanding, resulting in a finish without any significant challenging climbs.

Our single century option includes the Mt. Diablo and the Calaveras Road portions of the double century route; two famous and iconic cycling destinations.

In both cases you are finished with the difficult climbing once you reach the top of Mt. Diablo, and the rest is comparatively easy but still scenic and fun cycling.
