Event Description
Thank you for registering for our 1st annual charity race! We are so excited to host this event and to interact with community members and businesses. LaunchCARES is a Rockville-based business that partners with existing charities in the DMV area with an aligned mission to change lives through fitness & wellness. In 2022 we have chosen SO WHAT ELSE as the non-profit to receive 100% of race proceeds. SO WHAT ELSE has been caring for members of our community since 2009 as a registered 501(c)(3). They offer after-school programs, spring break and summer camps, a plentiful food pantry, and much more to underserved families and children in DC and Maryland. So What Else is very deserving of our community support and celebration.
It is our goal is to raise $100,000 for So What Else. YOU are helping to make this happen!!!

Race day will be structured in a way that allows children and parents to participate! Following the events, join us for a fun festival including DJ, face painting, glitter tattoos, food trucks (we're working on this!), lawn games, and more.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers (1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $50).
Gift cards and metals will be awarded to the top three male and female winners in the following age categories:
- Ages 10-12
- Ages 13-15
- Ages 16-17
- Ages 18-20
- Ages 21-29
- Ages 30-39
- Ages 40-49
- Ages 50-59
- Ages 60-69
- Ages 70-79
- Ages 80 and up
Race day will include events for the whole family. This is a party you don't want to miss!
Event Start Times:
- Timed 5k - 9am
- Timed 10k - 9:30am
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk - 9:40am
- Kids Trike-A-Thon - 10:30am
Rain Date is Sunday 10/9/2022
We welcome families to decorate strollers, wagons, wheelchairs, tricycles, bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc in the spirit of the Halloween Season. Costumes are welcomed, and encouraged, for all participants.
