ABOUT OUR EVENT:
The Quintessential Experience in Financial Services is proud to partner with Stony Brook Cancer Center, to host the Quintessential Experience 5K Walk/Run for Charity, to raise funds to help address the #1 barrier to cancer care – TRANSPORTATION.
The Quintessential Experience is a full-service financial services firm working with individuals and business owners in the areas of retirement planning, insurance, investments and employee benefits. Our firm prides itself on “integrity, professionalism, service, accessibility and culture” to our clients. As we have grown, we understood the need to serve our community and offer those same principles in our volunteer efforts, charitable giving, and good-will to all.
Patients with cancer on Long Island, with transportation barriers, carry a greater burden of disease which is evidence of the relationship between poverty and transportation availability.
Transportation is cited as the major barrier to healthcare access and research shows that transportation can impact healthcare access as much as 67%. When we heard about the need in transportation funding for patient support services before, during, and after cancer treatments, we knew that this was a good place to start.
Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 to fund this program for patients undergoing cancer treatment and prevention at Stony Brook Cancer Center.
We are excited to host the First Annual 5K Walk/Run and support the communities that we serve.
