*October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. October 15th is the International Wave of Light @ 7pm.*
Forever in Our Hearts is excited to host the 1st annual Steps of Love Pregnancy & Infant Loss Memorial Walk!
Have you yourself, a friend, family member, and/or coworker experienced pregnancy & infant loss? This walk is to help raise awareness to all stages of infant loss (miscarriage through early child loss) along with creating a supportive community for those who are on this grief journey. We invite you to join us by attending in person or virtually. All proceeds of this event will help further the mission of Forever in Our Hearts as they work to assist pregnancy & infant loss families and the loss community.
Virtual Option: walk any time Saturday, October 15th thru Sunday, October 16th
In Person Option:
Location: Taha-Zouka Park - Softball Complex (S 5th St & McKinley Ave)
Schedule:
4:00 pm - Registration
4:30 pm - Welcome / Kids Fun Run (kids 12 and under 1/8th of a mile grass run)
4:45 pm - Memorial Walk
5:30 pm - Food Trucks / Live Music / Activities
7:00 pm - International Wave of Light / Closing
Walk Start & Finish / Route / Parking:
The race will start and finish at the same spot. Enjoy the scenic view of the route in one big loop along the Cowboy Trail. Parking will be marked.
Public restrooms will be open for use.
Weather & Climate:
Dress appropriately for the weather. Picnic tables will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs.
Registration:
More than one person can be registered at a time for ease of use.
Each registered person will receive an event shirt - if registered by Sept 25th.
If you are an loss parent attending in person you are able to purchase a memorial kit for $20.00 including a 24"x18" yard sign that will be displayed on the walk & you can take home. The yard sign can be personalized with your baby(s) name and a picture if you so choose. You will need to email the picture to Forever in Our Hearts (admin@foreverinourheartsne.org).
NOTE: MUST register by Sept 25th to be guaranteed a shirt and memorial kit
Teams:
Form a team in memory of your child with family and friends, business/co-worker teams, dept teams (ex: L&D Dept)...the largest team will be awarded a prize.
One person must create the team name in run signup and all other registrants will need to select that team when registering.
