Event Description

Founder Ciara Callicott started Unite to Fight Poverty with the goal of bringing awareness to the issue of poverty and utilizing the power of advocacy to combat it. After seeing the effects of poverty in her community and experiencing financial insecurity, Ciara sought to see a tangible change in her hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas. What began as a community-based initiative has evolved into an advocacy organization that spans across six states and has helped to cultivate effective advocates across the U.S. Now, Unite to Fight Poverty’s team is fundraising to obtain 501 © (3) status to serve its mission. Recently, Unite to Fight Poverty has facilitated Fun Friday events centered around fostering strong, empowered citizens, ready to act and advocate for change in their communities.
