The first annual ROAR Winter Solstice Fun Run/Walk is here!
This will be our the last event of 2022 and, as promised, we will be GIVING AWAY OUR GRAND PRIZE which is winners choice of a Solo Stove Bonfire or Retrospec Weekender Paddle Board!! You DO NOT need to be the fastest person to WIN the grand prize! You just need to fill out your bib tag and drop it in the registration box to be entered to win!
REMEMBER....ALL paid ROAR event participants received an entry in the end-of-year drawing for the winners choice of a Solo Stove Bonfire or Retrospec Weekender paddle board! So the more events you've done the better your chances. Here's your chance at one more entry so get off your bum and come on out and brave the cold and help us celebrate the longer days ahead!
ALSO...Not only will you get a little exercise in, you'll be helping support our commitment to providing free community rental and youth events! The free events we've been able to provide FREE of charge thanks to YOUR commitment to suffering (LOL) have been things such as free snowshoeing for the local 4H youth clubs, a free day on the water for the Lil Bro/Lil Sis mentor program, multiple youth group events for local churches and the first annual ROAR River Regatta where we were able to provided all our watercraft for a day on the water for the community and providing watercraft for a day for the Roseau High School Student Council to get them out on the water and reward them for their commitment to our community. So let's keep logging the miles and keeping those kiddos active and the community healthy and happy!
EVENTS & DETAILS:
WINTER SOLSTICE FUN RUN: Start time of 3PM and will be a similar course to the Frosty Buns 5k starting and finishing on the bike path at the Riverview Splash Pad. Register online or stop by the store and register anytime prior to race day. NO DAY OF REGISTRATIONS. Door prizes awarded at end of race along with finisher medals! We will also be giving away prizes for Top 3 overall winners!
· $20 Online event registration fee. Online registration ends December 16th.
· $30 Day of event registration at Riverview Outdoors & Recreation (ROAR).
· First 50 Participants registered receive a finishers medal!
· Racecourse will be marked and start on the bike path near the Riverview Splash Pad.
· 10am-2pm Bib pick-up/racer check-in and day of event registration at ROAR.
· 2:45pm racers meeting at the starting line with a 3:00pm start time.
· Upon completion of the event present your race bib at ROAR for a free hot drink!
AND.... We will be announcing this years (2022) KING and QUEEN of ROAR!! Our King and Queen of ROAR is based on number of events registered for. In the case of a tie breaker, we will then go by number of events finished and then by finishing position. King and Queen of ROAR 2022 will each receive a gift card valued at $50!!!
