Event Description

Back for the first time since the inception of the pandemic... the 2023 Track Attack 1-Mile race series! Sign up to run individual races or complete the whole series and see how you improve over the duration of the series! This race series benefits the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Hole in the Wall Gang in Ashford, CT. If you are unfamiliar with these organizations, please visit their websites and read up. They are phenomenal organizations that do great, great work. This is a no-frills race series, so that as much of the entry fee can be a donation as possible.

WHEN: The individual races will be as follows:

• East Windsor: March 12th. Wave 1: 8:00am; Wave 2: 8:30am; Wave 3: 9:00am (East Windsor High School, 76 S Main St)
• South Windsor: March 12th. Wave 1: 10:15am; Wave 2: 10:45am; Wave 3: 11:15am (South Windsor High School, 161 Nevers Rd)
• North Branford: April 2nd. Wave 1: 2:30pm; Wave 2: 3:00pm; Wave 3: 3:30pm (North Branford High School, 49 Caputo Rd)
• Naugatuck: May 7th. Wave 1: 8:30am; Wave 2: 9:00am; Wave 3: 9:30am (Naugatuck High School, 543 Rubber Ave)
• Oxford: May 7th. Wave 1: 11:00am; Wave 2: 11:30am; Wave 3: 12:00pm (Oxford High School, 61 Quaker Farms Rd)

COST:

• Series: $40 (+website transaction fee) through January 7th. $55 (+website transaction fee) January 8th to March 10th 
• Individual Race: $12 (+website transaction fee) through January 7th. $15 (+website transaction fee) January 8th to night before each race.

***Note - there will not be restroom facilities on site unless the school already has a portolet. Please plan accordingly***

WAIVER: I know that running a road race is potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them.  I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road and sidewalks, and all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or roller blades, and animals are not allowed in the race and I will abide by all race rules. Personal music players are allowed at the runner’s own risk. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the race director, Team Run for Kids, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, the towns of East Windsor/South Windsor/North Branford/Naugatuck/Oxford, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.  I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.

COVID-19 Waiver
Assumption of the Risk & Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19
I understand and am aware that there are potential risks incidental to attending events by Fools Five, Inc. during the COVID-19 pandemic, some of which may be dangerous and which may expose me to the risk of disease or illness.  I understand that, due to the highly contagious nature of the COVID-19 virus and potentially any other virus that can be contracted from both symptomatic and asymptomatic people, there is a potential risk for the contraction of illness as a result of my participation in the program.  I further understand that, while health and safety precautions will be taken, Fools Five Inc. will not ultimately be responsible for determining whether any participant has or does not have COVID-19 or any other illness. 

I, on behalf of myself, voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to and/or contract COVID-19 as a result of participating in events and agree and acknowledge that the above-mentioned parties assume no responsibility for the contraction of any illness as a result of my participation in the program.  I hereby voluntarily forever release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the above-mentioned parties, jointly and severally, from any and all liability, including any and all claims, demands, injuries, damages, causes of action (known or unknown), suits, or judgments of any and every kind (including attorneys’ fees), arising from any illness or disease that I (or any person who may contract an illness or disease such as COVID-19, directly or indirectly, from myself) may suffer as a result of my participation in this event. regardless of whether a COVID-19 infection and/or outbreak occurs before, during, or after I participate in any event and regardless of whether the illness or disease is directly or indirectly caused by the track race, unless the illness or disease is caused by the event's’ gross negligence or intentional acts.
