Event Description

The Shamrock 5K is an annual tradition at Wake Forest University and an incredible opportunity to support the prevention of child abuse. This year, we are excited to revamp this event into a COLOR RUN! The 5K consists of 3 laps around a 1-mile loop, and the first lap of the race will be a fun-run to boost the energy and wake up those legs! Bring your wackiest costumes and your smiling faces! There will be leaders from Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina giving a speech about philanthropy, free food, awesome music, and a free shirt to run in. Our chapter is looking forward to raising awareness for the amazing work Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina and Prevent Child Abuse America do while having fun with the Winston-Salem community. This event will run from 10am until roughly 1pm on Saturday, March 18th.

All Shamrock proceeds go directly to preventing child abuse in our community and on the state level. Our local beneficiary of Prevent Child Abuse America, PCANC, seeks to advocate for the prevention of child abuse with early intervention to strengthen families. In past years, Wake Forest Kappa Delta has raised over $20,000 through our annual Shamrock 5K! We are thrilled to support this vital cause again this year, especially in the wake of a pandemic that has increased the need for effective child abuse prevention strategies. With your help, we can raise even more money this year and show our support for healthy families and children.

We all have been looking forward to this year's Shamrock 5K for months and we cannot wait to spend the day with you on our beautiful Wake Forest campus. Time to put on those sneakers and come run with the Kappa Deltas!
