If you are unaware of who Pat Tillman was, he played football at Arizona State University where he developed a reputation as an intelligent, hard hitting linebacker.  He was drafted by the NFL Arizona Cardinals and became a star safety.  He was known for his leadership, intensity, intelligence and loyalty as a player and human being.  After the attacks of 9/11 he decided to give up his sports career to enroll in the military.  Pat turned down a multi-million dollar NFL contract to do what he felt was the right thing to do.  In the Army he never drew attention to himself as a pro football star and went through the rigorous training to become part of the Army's elite 75th Ranger regiment. During his tour with the Rangers in Afghanistan he lost his life at the age of 27.  The run provides funds to scholars who are selected to carry on his legacy of selfless humble leadership.

The volunteer staffed Tillman Honor runs are held in 35 cities spanning Northern, CA to Washington DC to honor Pat.
