Event Description

Please join us (come walk or run!) for a 5K Walk and 5K run celebrating Darren and Sheila Snyder. On October 3, 2022, Darren suffered a stroke and was hospitalized. During that hospital stay, he and Sheila learned the cause of his stroke, Multiple Myeloma. Since then, Darren is fighting this disease and healing from his stroke. Darren and Sheila are both active and love to be outside. Sheila loves to walk and do 5k's, so this race is in honor of them and to encourage them to keep going, and to give back. Sheila and Darren want to help others in this journey.  We have partnered with the Coach Kill Cancer fund and are giving the proceeds from this race to that fund, to help other individuals right here in our community, who are going through cancer treatments. The money is used to help with their expenses.

Register by June 1st to be guaranteed a shirt.

Location:  The race starts and finishes at DeSoto Park, West Main Street  DeSoto, IL 

Proceeds go to the Coach Kill Cancer Fund to help people in our communities and their families in their battle with cancer (food, gas money, lodging, utilities, etc).

Packet Pickup from 8:00-8:45 a.m. on race day at race site

Course: very flat with one slight hill 

Awards to: Top three overall finishers and Awards to the top three runners (male and female) and top three walkers (male and female) in the following age groups:

10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and older 

Donations will be accepted and checks can be made out to the Coach Kill Cancer Fund.
