Event Description

Race Thru the Redwoods is run entirely in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton, California. The race starts in the Roaring Camp Railroads and runs one mile on paved roads followed by scenic trails next to meadows and the San Lorenzo River. The moderate to challenging course then rises approximately 300 feet in elevation between mile 2.5 and mile 3.5. Return is on downhill paved road and dirt trails with the finish near the starting line. Water/aid stations, mile markers.

All participants will receive a t-shirt and breakfast: there will be coffee, juice, and healthy breakfast available (free to runners who show bib).

All Kids will receive ribbons just for finishing, along with medals for top finishers.

Your parking is paid for the day inside (limited availability, so get there early). Enjoy a day at the park and bring your family and friends—stay and play the day away! Picnic grounds are beautiful, swim in the river or go ride the train. There is free parking outside the park (see Directions page for more info on parking) and you can hike in on the trail (you’ll see a sign posted at beginning of trail right after the bridge). It’s a 10 minute walk depending where you park—great for your warm up!

Electronic timing results immediately after race are provided by Ford Timing. During the awards ceremony prizes will be drawn for those present!

Proceeds from the race go to the Felton Business Association, San Lorenzo Valley High’s cross country program, local charities and the Felton California State Parks.
