We’re back for the 3rd annual Global Energy Race taking place on September 24, 2017.

                                             38 Cities, 21 Countries, 1 Goal.

Long Beach, CA plays host again to the largest U.S. based race of the Global Energy series. Whether you're a competitive runner or looking to come out with your family and friends to enjoy a morning of fun and games, this race is for you! The Global Energy Race offers a chip timed 10K & 5K route for those runners finishing their pre-marathon training or an untimed 5K route perfect for those looking to walk a scenic course with their friends.

Come out and enjoy the beach views, music, games, giveaways, Osito and much more!

Course Info:

The 10K is a USATF certified course. 

The 10K kicks off at Marina Green Park and loops around the Long Beach Shoreline Marina, offering a perfect view of the Queen Mary. Runners continue down the Beach Path and enjoy sun, sand and a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. Runners will make a u-turn at the Belmont Pier and enjoy a fast, flat finish toward the finish line.

The 5K starts and finishes at the same location as the 10K. The 5K starts at Marina Green Park and runs parallel to Shoreline Drive. You will enjoy views of the Long Beach Shoreline Marina, running around the restaurants surrounding The Pike at Rainbow Harbor and Shoreline Village. The course then follows a portion of the 10K route, with a beautiful view of the Queen Mary and finishes at the park.

All participants will be chip timed.

Parking:

Paid parking is available for $15.00 at the Long Beach Convention Center, across the street from Marina Green Park.

10K FIRST PLACE PRIZING 

Male and Female first place 10K winners will receive a trip for two to Rio de Janeiro to run in the 2018 Global Energy Race!

A trip for award recipient and one (1) guest to participate in the 2018 Global Energy Race scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Trip includes round-trip international coach air transportation for award recipient and one (1) guest from major gateway airport nearest award recipient’s residence (as determined by Promoter) to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, two (2) nights standard hotel accommodations (one (1) room, double occupancy), ground transportation to/from airport/hotel and hotel/race location, registration for winner and guest to participate in the 2018 Global Energy Race, and breakfast, lunch and dinner for winner and guest while on trip (exact location and cost of each meal to be determined by Promoter and its subsidiaries, in their sole discretion).

Challenge begins 6/16/17 at 12:00 a.m. PT, and ends 9/24/17 at 7:30 AM PT. Open to individuals who are 13+ and legal residents in their jurisdiction of residence and are eligible to participate in the challenge or any race. Eligible minors will be required to have their parent’s or legal guardian’s execute a Global Energy Race participant release on their behalf prior to being eligible to participate.
