Event Description

Southern California’s Premier Coastal Bike Ride! Whether you’re a seasoned centurion or just coming out for your first organized ride, you’ll find a route to please your pedals.

Five routes along our unique, beautiful California Coast with cheerful volunteers eager to help make your ride day an experience to remember. Rest stops are stocked with abundant snacks to fuel your journey. And don’t forget what we’re famous for – Popsicles on the Rincon! Popsicle Power and the cool coastal breeze will whisk you back to the ride finish where you’ll share adventures with fellow cycling enthusiasts as you enjoy a couple sliders and sides.

All routes start and end at the Trudy Tuttle Education Service Center.

2017 Mini Metric (30 miles) is a perfect introduction for beginner to intermediate, family, or recreational cyclists. This route is a true coastal cruise along the Pacific Ocean for 75% of the ride. Your turn around point is at the beautiful Rincon Park, a fantastic photo op that you won’t want to miss and of course, a popsicle. Look for dolphins!

2017 Metric Century (60 miles) is for the “not quite up for a century but don’t bore me” rider. You’ll get a little challenge and have time to take in the scenery. This route heads up a dedicated bike path to historic Ojai and its famous Arboreta. After refueling at San Antonio rest stop, you’ll enjoy a fun downhill ride back to the coast. A jaunt up to Rincon Park is rewarded with a magnificent view and an icy treat.

2017 Century (100 miles) Ready for our trademark route? It’s what put us on the map! If this is your first organized century, you’re in for a treat. Breathtaking ocean vistas, challenging climbs, along with plenty of flat roads take you through our most iconic back roads and beachside communities. About 4000 feet of climb makes for a just-right challenge, yet enjoyable day in the saddle.

2017 Hilly Century (100 miles) What… you like the climb? This journey takes you around Lake Casitas and up, up, up for a view of the lake. Continue up through the hills of Santa Barbara and out to forested Stow Grove for a relaxing lunch with your cycling comrades. After refueling, enjoy the cool breeze back down the coast. Don’t forget the final stop at Rincon Park to enjoy a well-deserved Popsicle – those last 15 miles never tasted so sweet.

2017 Double Metric Century (125 miles) Hard core, are you? We’ll give you the whole enchilada. You’ll start by heading into Ojai along a dedicated bike path for a nice warm up. A challenging climb up Casitas Pass takes you around Lake Casitas and up to beautiful vistas of the lake and Pacific Ocean. You’ll continue into Santa Barbara where once again you’ll be amazed by the stunning views. Drop down to forested Stow Grove and meet up with your Century buddies to enjoy lunch and conversation before heading south (actually east but you’re using GPS anyway). There’s still plenty of great riding left, but now you’ll enjoy a flatter route with a good chance of a coastal tail wind. Stop at Rincon Park for some POPSICLE POWER and then head to the finish for a great after ride meal.

Cool Breeze Century is a ride that benefits the foundation accounts of its non-profit organizers. The registration fee is not tax deductible and you are not required to raise money to ride.

We have a No Refund policy.  If you register and cannot attend the event, you may sell or transfer your ride to another person. Contact the organizer for further questions.

Trudy Tuttle Education Service Center is a school district site and has a few rules we must obey.  No alcohol, no pets (except for service animals), and no whining – ok, that’s a Cool Breeze rule, but still…
