Event Description

The 4th Annual Bracken Mountain Races are two separate races (trail running and mountain biking) to be held in Brevard, NC Labor Day on Saturday, September 2nd, 2017. The 12K race course is an all terrain course from the scenic roads of beautiful Brevard, to a short section of gravel climbing up to the Bracken Preserve, where the challenging single-track loop trail around Bracken Mountain is featured. While the course is only 12k, both the trail run and the bike race are technically challenging. By the end of the race, a total of 905’ of elevation is gained.

New for 2017 - Mountain Roots Family Fun Run! Get the whole family involved in the fun, with the 1 mile run in Brevard, NC.

Registration and race packet pick up - Friday, Sept. 1st, 6-8pm at Squatch Bikes/ Saturday, Sept. 2nd, starting at 7:30 am at the Starting Line.

12K Running Race start--8:30 am

1 Mile Family Fun Run start--9:00am

12K Mountain Bike Race start-- 11:30 am

After the races, continue the adventure with the 4th annual Bracken Mountain Outdoor Festival hosted this year by Squatch Bikes & Brews.

The proceeds of this event go to Mountain Roots, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and will be fed back into offering experiential education activities including outdoor education for local schools, day camps, and outdoor family adventures.
