Event Description

Run Voyages Point Reyes Running and Yoga Retreat (November 11-12, 2017) - The retreat will include group long runs (6-10 miles) on gorgeous coastal trails, yoga tailored for runners, professional coaching and drills. The 2015 female Ultrarunner of the year Magda Boulet will coach and run with the group. Magda is also an Olympic marathoner and 2015 Western States 100 winner. Reba Gray will lead yoga sessions tailored for runners. Our base will be in downtown Point Reyes Station. The group size is limited. There will be multiple distances and pacing available for each group run. 

You can sign up for the full weekend or Saturday-only. Optional lodging is available for the weekend.

Why running + yoga? We believe that a consistent practice of running and yoga can provide balanced and powerful physical and mental training for runners and yogis of all ages, sizes and experience levels. Yoga for runners is intended to provide you with yoga sessions that fit in pre or post-run, on the same day as a run, or on a running rest day. At our retreats, we combine quality group runs with expert coaching sessions, yoga designed for runners, healthy meals and group camaraderie in world-class locations. The group dynamic provides motivation and positive energy, making the workouts fun and fast.

Schedule of Events*

Saturday, November 11:

Begin at 11:00am in Point Reyes Station. Start with pre-run dynamic stretching, then a 4-6 mile trail run. Meet at Point Reyes Yoga in Point Reyes Station at 12:30pm for refreshments, introductions and post-run yoga, followed by coaching and drills with Magda Boulet. Finish by 4:30pm. Participants will have the option to join each other for dinner. Lodging options are available (contact runvoyager@gmail.com if you are interested in group lodging for Saturday night).

Sunday, November 12:

Begin at 8:00am with stretching and then a 7-9 mile trail run on the Bear Valley Trail in the national park. If conditions permit, there will be an option to run the full trail to the beach. The group will then return to Point Reyes Station and meet at the Dance Palace at 10:30am for a light post-run snack and a post-run yoga session. Next will be advanced coaching and drills. We will have a group lunch catered by Cowgirl Creamery (at no additional charge) followed by a walk/hike in the wetlands along Point Reyes Station. The program will finish by 3:30pm.
