Event Description

Experience a scenic portion of the Ring the Peak Trail by mountain bike and learn about our current efforts to “Complete the Ring”. Those who wish to carpool can meet at 7:00 am at the Colorado Mountain Brewery parking lot at the southwest corner of 21 St. and Highway 24. Otherwise, we will meet at 8:00 at the Catamount Open Space parking lot at the end of Ed Lowe Road in Teller County.

We will ride approximately 20 miles round trip (with a 10 mile option), starting from the Catamount Trailhead to Horsethief Park then back to the parking lot. This will be a moderately difficult mountain bike ride with over 2,000 ft of elevation gain and loss. Portions of the trail include steep climbs, descents in loose gravel and limited water availability. Please assess your skill and endurance to decide whether this is the right ride for you.

All riders should bring helmets, lunch and snacks for a full day in the saddle plus more water than you think you will need. Dress for the changing weather conditions that we often experience in the Front Range during fall. Turn-around options will be available. Expect limited to no cell phone coverage.

See the ride map at this link.
