PATCHES is a place where children with complex medical needs are given culturally sensitive, compassionate nursing care regardless of the ability to pay. By providing best practice interventions, our nurses and therapists help each child reach maximum health so they can develop, thrive, and grow.

GOT SNEAKERS???  

Bring them to our 2^nd Annual Robert M. Levy 5K Run/Walk!

We need new or “gently used pairs” of men’s, women’s and children’s sneakers– all sizes.

(NO hiking boots, dress/casual shoes, sandals or Crocs). Please tie each pair together.

It is estimated that over 600 million people including children live barefoot due to the lack of supply of affordable sneakers causing major health issues and limiting the ability to obtain an education. Most of these discarded sneakers can be reused, especially in developing areas of the world where walking is the primary mode of transportation. Every day millions of people's feet are exposed to unsanitary conditions that lead to diseases and infection. The lack of footwear also keeps children out of schools due to entry requirements leaving them without an education and continuing the cycle of poverty. Providing used sneakers not only promotes health and education but also creates jobs through the development of small enterprises as people work to reconstruct the sneakers that will be sold for a very low price.

Ask family, friends and neighbors to donate used sneakers they no longer wear.
