Event Description

Grab your family and friends and get energized for the Big Bunny 5K and Kids Fun Run. Everyone can participate, from competitive runners to first-time runners, walkers or hoppers. There is even a special course for kids younger than age 7 at the Kids Fun Run.

The Big Bunny 5K and Kids Fun Run is less about who finishes first and more about creating a positive healthy and connected community. Five dollars of each registration fee supports the work of charity: water, a non-profit whose mission is to bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. Run, walk, or hop to the Big Bunny 5K and Kids Fun Run, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

Benefitting Charity: Water

663 million people in the world live without clean water. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide. Or, twice the population of the United States. The majority live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family. Not only does walking for water keep kids out of school or take up time that parents could be used to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that can make everyone sick. But access to clean water means education, income, and health -, especially for women and kids. 

5K Race
The 5K race will begin promptly at 8:30 am on Torre Ave in front of the Cupertino Civic Center. Please arrive at the Cupertino Civic Center no later than 7:45 am to ensure enough time to park, collect your race bib and t-shirt and warm up before the start of the race. The race will take place rain or shine and will not be delayed due to late arrivals. The top 3 finishers in each age group will receive a special award at the awards ceremony following the conclusion of the Kids Fun Run. A registered adult must accompany any participants under the age of 10 on the 5K course.

Kids Fun Run
The Kids Fun Run will begin promptly at 9:45 am on Cupertino Library Field, located next to the Cupertino Library. The Kids Fun Run is an untimed event, and all kids will receive a participation medal. Kids age 0-4 will run one lap around the field, while kids age 5-7 will run two laps. Parents may run with their younger children who need a little extra help and encouragement.

Packet Pick-up
Please bring a copy of your registration confirmation when check-in and pick up your registration packet. You may pick up your registration packet at Cupertino Community Hall (10350 Torre Ave, Cupertino, CA 95014) on Friday, March 30, 2018, from 3 pm to 7 pm and beginning at 7 am on the day of the race.

Race Day
Free parking is available at the Cupertino Civic Center and the Prometheus Parking Garage. Overflow parking is available at Wilson Park. Parking is not allowed on Torre Ave between Pacifica and Rodrigues or at the Cupertino Office Complex buildings. Vehicles parked in these areas will be ticketed. We encourage our residents to walk to the Cupertino Civic Center to afford those coming from out of town an easier time finding parking.
The Big Bunny 5K will take place rain or shine.
