Santa Barbara 's unique run up from the Famous Bud Bottoms Dolphin Sclupture at Stearns Wharf, under the 101 , the Gateway to Santa Barbara, through and pass the downtown, parks, passing the Queen of the California Missions and on up into Los Padres National Forest. Race starts at 6:30 a.m.. The climb to La Cumbre Peak will afford particiapnts magestic views of the South Coast.
Finishers get the coveted "Finishers" T-Shirt and FINISHER's MEDAL.
This event is part of the SB Athletic Associationsn's annual Grand Prix, so endurance athletes and competive athletes join the mix.

Runners are Escorted through Santa Barbara
by members of the Echelon and SB Bike Clubs along with the SBPD.
Volunteers line the downtown portion of the course.
Water and Aid stations manned by members of the SB Tri Club.
Course Route is up State Street, to East Haley to Santa Barbara Street to right turn on Mission Street, Left towards the Mission on Laguna. Right on Los Padres, passing APS to Mountain (includes a section of 192) to Gilbraltor to Camino Cielo and into Look Out Park at La Cumbre Peak. Course is open to traffic at all times and runners must adhere to the rules of the run, mainly staying in the 3 foot curb lane...where necessary traffic controls will be in place to insure the safety of the runners.
Friends and family may follow the course but must exit the course driving west to the 154, and not return via the uphill route. Specatators instructions will be available at Packet Pick Up.
Packet Pick Up will be in the Hazards Complex at 110 Anacapa Street between noon and 4 P.M. on Saturday September 1, 2018. Late registrations will be accepted if space is available. On Line Registrations closes when full or Thursday August 30, 2018.
Aid/Water Stations will be on the course
This is a run into the back country so plan according. Carry your favorite energy fuel...but please use the aid stations as drop zones.
Porta Potties will be located at the start, mile 4, mile 7.5 and at the finish. Friends can drive to the top and there are plenty of pull outs (please adhere to spectators instructions along the course available at Bib Pick Up) to stop and cheer on the runners at.
Friends should NEVER ESCORT a runner.
Shuttles will be provided for all runners that need a ride back to the designated drop at Cota and Santa Baarbara Streets. Parking is available throughout the lower Santa Barbara area. Please study the map provided on our web site to determine where is the best fit for you. The Garden Street lot is located closest to the start but parking fees do apply there. PLEASE NOTE: Only the Last shuttle of the day will run back to the wharf.
You will receive your Event Finishers Shirt at the finish along with your 2018 FINISHERS TOKEN.
Please watch the weather patterns as we approach Race Day. For those that feel they need to have gear at the top, a vehicle will be designated prior to the run start for runners bags.
