Event Description

Tour Summary:

Greenwich Village is remembered as the center of NYC’s counterculture movement and the home for struggling artists, writers and musicians. It is now considered one of NYC’s most affluent neighborhoods where you can discover countless small, intimate cafés and bars and vibrant nightlife. Our Greenwich Village Run Tour will take you through beautiful tree lined streets with lovely 19th century townhouses and brownstones which are owned by many celebrities and wealthy residents. You’ll also see historic Washington Square Park and will run through Bleecker and MacDougal Streets where many iconic musicians and poets performed in the 1960’s. This is an unforgettable tour and quality workout that is not to be missed!

The Course

Our 4-mile tour begins at Jackson Square Park which is right below 14th St, which marks the boundary of the northern section of Greenwich Village. We’ll then head south towards the center of Greenwich Village. Our tour continues to the eastern boundary, through Washington Square Park then back north to our starting point a block south of the A,C subway line. We will run on city sidewalks at an easy pace.

What to Expect

This is a group running tour that will be led by licensed NYC sightseeing guides who are also certified running coaches. To insure no one is left behind and that all can hear the guide we will run at an easy, conversation pace. We will make periodically stops to view and discuss notable points of interest throughout the tour. You should be able to comfortably run 4 miles for this tour. The duration of the tour is approximately 90 minutes. Although your guide will run with a backpack and can store small items for you such as phones or keys, we recommend bringing very little on the tour. As always, it's important to stay hydrated during a run, so please bring a small bottle of water. We will begin our tour right at the scheduled start time, however if you are running late please be sure to email or phone us no later than 15 minutes prior to the start. Travel to and from our tours is usually fastest via subway, so please bring a MetroCard.
