Event Description

The South Huntington Educational Foundation will host its 6th Annual Miles for Michael Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Walt Whitman High School, located at 301 West Hills Road, Huntington Station.

All proceeds will support the Arts/Dance and Music programs of the South Huntington School District.

The USATF-Certified run takes place on a scenic tree-lined course during Long Island's beautiful spring season. The route is fun and challenging at the same time. It starts on West Hills Road in front of Walt Whitman High School. West Hills Road contains many gently rolling hills. At mile marker 1 you reach the challenging Reservoir Road hill. It seems daunting at first look but achievable by us all. The second mile brings you through neighborhoods that contain more curves and hills. The third and final mile is flat and gives you an opportunity to enjoy the scenic route. The finish line returns you to the entrance of the high school surrounded by cheers, music and student entertainment to keep you motivated.

The race will be timed and managed by Start2 Finish Corporation. Professional day of race a with day of race announcements. 

START TIMES: (Rain or Shine)

 5 Kilometer  Run - 9:00 am.
10 Kilometer Run - 9:00 am
1 Mile Kids Fun Run- 8:30a.m.

PRE-RACE DAY PACKET PICK UP

For registered Participants- Friday, May 10th 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Walt Whitman High School

RACE DAY CHECK IN:

7:00-8:30 a.m. Walt Whitman High School.
NO registrations will be issued after 8:30 a.m.

PARKING DAY OF RACE:

All parking is through Paumonok Drive which is located off of Jericho Turnpike behind the Walt Whitman High School.

IMPORTANT:

The main front entrance of Walt Whitman High School will be closed the morning of the race. All parking will be through Paumonok Drive.
