2nd Annual “Break the Chain” 5K RACE!!!
It's time to start warming up for the second annual Break the Chain 5K! Start stretching those hammies and massaging those glutes! We're all getting really stoked to run the beautiful Guadalupe River Trail and see who has the fastest time. That's right, this is a chip-timed 5K competitive race.
If you're not a competitive runner and just want to have a good time, don't sweat it. We'll have a fun run division for non-competitive runners/walkers, too. And, for all of our small, energetic friends, we'll have a 1/2 mile "Littles" fun run for 5 year olds and younger immediately following the 5K.
We also encourage our four-legged friends to come out and support the cause, too. We may even have special "treats" for the fastest canine times!
We will be awarding medals in all age groups. There will also be music, a bounce house, cotton candy, snow cones and awards for each age division.
Break the Chain 5K serves as a way to promote awareness about human trafficking and to help support the work of The Hug Project. A percentage of the proceeds from this event will go to help The Hug Project. They work to prevent, protect, and restore victims of human trafficking, exploitation, and abuse.
