Event Description

Rome Clean and Green is once again hosting a 5K obstacle course race on the natural terrain at Woods Valley sure to challenge and entertain athletes of all ages and abilities.  This time we'll have MORE obstacles, MORE mud, and MORE FUN!

Together with a dedicated group of volunteers, including members of the Eastern Air Defense Sector, the Roman Runners, and the Woods Valley Ski Patrol, Rome Clean and Green is hosting a day of fun for participants and spectators alike. Run as an individual or as a part of a group. Extra credit for team spirit! Dress in costume, run together, represent your business or organization.  There will be prizes for Best Dressed, Best Team Name, Most Team Spirit, and more!

In addition, we’re hosting the Mud Pie Run for kids aged 10 and under. The Mud Pie Run will begin at 11:00 am.

Whether you’re a competitor or prefer to watch the show from the sidelines, this will be a day filled with good, clean fun for everyone!

There will be food and beverage service and live entertainment throughout the day.  Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Parking is FREE, but be sure to have plenty of cash on hand for food, drinks, raffles, and more! 




Event details and schedule

Join us on race day beginning at 7am for our Pre-Race Expo.  At this time, you can visit vendors, enjoy a light breakfast from the concession stand, and pick up your race bibs and swag!

If you are racing latere in the day, please sure to arrive 60 minutes or more prior to your registered wave start time.

The course consists of numerous obstacles spanning 5 kilometers on the existing ski area terrain.  Do you want a bigger challenge?  This year, our first two waves beginning at 9 am, will be timed, competitive heats.

What to wear: 

comfortable, breathable clothing that won’t hold excess moisture, good socks, sneakers that can handle the terrain (consider donating post-race!).   Optional – gloves, goggles, and the costume of your (or your team’s) choice.

 

What to bring:

a bag for soiled post-run clothing, change of clothes, signed waiver and photo ID, cash or card for food and fun, and an awesome sense of adventure.

 

Parking:  There will be on-site parking at Woods Valley.
