10:15am Kids Fun Run Obstacle Course

DESCRIPTION:

The Champlain Valley Family Center will host their 5th Annual 5KFWD for Recovery Race at the Plattsburgh City Beach on Saturday June 9, 2018. Each summer Champlain Valley Family Center’s Prevention Program sponsors a summer camp for middle school students who are at risk. The camp curriculum and activities are evidenced based and designed to steer youth away from substance use.  Your participation will provide funding for 2018 CVFC Summer Camp Program participants. Your sponsorship will help CVFC prevent substance use in Clinton County.

On the day of the race, check-in will begin at 8:00am with the race beginning at 9:15am.   The registration fee for the 5KFWD for Recovery is $20 online prior to the event.  On-site registration is $25.  Registration for the race includes a 5KFWD t-shirt, race packet and bib number.  Registration will continue up to the day of the event, but shirt sizes will not be guaranteed for those registering after May 25.  5KFWD medals will be awarded to all participants.  Prize baskets will also be awarded to the top overall male and female racer.

For Kids 10 and Under a Kids Fun Run Obstacle Course Race will be held at 10:15am.  Registration for the Kids Fun Run Obstacle Course Race is on-site the day of the race beginning at 9:00am.  There is a $5 registration fee and a parent or guardian must be present.  All participants will receive a medal.

CVFC is a community-based, non-profit agency, licensed through the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services to provide substance use treatment services for residents of Clinton County. CVFC also provides education, prevention and specialized youth programs to prevent and/or minimize the damage caused by alcoholism and substance abuse.
