Event Description
This year the Thank You 5K, sponsored by Inspire Church, will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 805 Township St., Sedro Woolley!
Awards:
Post race medals and prizes will be awarded to the top three overall finishers.
This year we will also be holding a raffle. For every school supply item donated from the list below, you have the opportunity to get a raffle ticket to be entered to win one of three $50.00 gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods!
Fees:
Prior to April 15, 2018 the entry fee for the 5k is $20, after April 15, 2018 the fee goes up to $30.
Prior to April 15, 2018 the entry fee for the 10k is $25, after April 15, 2018, the fee goes up to $35.
Prior to April 15, 2018 the entry fee to walk the 5k is $20, after April 15, 2018 the fee goes up to $30.
If you would like to purchase a t-shirt, the cost for shirts in sizes S-XL is $10.00. Registration past April 15th does not guarantee a t-shirt will be available the day of the race.
Proceeds:
The proceeds from the Thank You 5k will go to benefit the Sedro Woolley Back to School Party. The Back to School Party is an event that has grown in the community and is now anticipated by many families throughout Skagit Valley. Inspire is proud to sponsor the event to benefit children in the way of providing school supplies and backpacks as well as a little bit of summer fun. In years past, Inspire has been able to give away over 400 backpacks filled with school supplies like paper, pencils, glue, rulers and much more! The party also has events and games for kids! If you are unable to run in the race, but would like to donate to the cause, there is an option to do by calling the Church Office at 360-855-0871. Event details and schedule
Registration/Event Schedule:
Registration opens at 8:00AM and the 5k and 10k races start at 9:00AM. There is also an option to sign up to walk the 5K. Bathrooms will be open at the Church pre and post race. There will also be the availability of refreshments post race. Awards will be handed out as soon as possible post race. The event will finish and close no later than 12:00PM.
Parking Info:
Parking is available in the lot belonging to Inspire Church at 805 Township St. Sedro Woolley.
Race Day Attire:
Because the spring weather in Washington can be unpredictible, make sure you layer up and dress appropriate for the day of the race. We recommend watching the weather report a few days ahead to get a good idea for what to expect.
Course:
The course will be a down and back, starting from Inspire Church at 805 Township St., Sedro Woolley and headed north to the Rails to Trails trail. The course then turns east on the trail to the turn around spot, then back toward town and south down Township to finish at Inspire Church. There will be one water station at the halfway point for the 5k and one at the halfway point for the 10k.
