Event Description
This year, the Bay County Bar Association has decided to donate the charity proceeds from the event to the Shaldera Track Club. The Shaldera Track Club was formed in May of 1996 by Air Force Captain Ed Latimer and their mission is to introduce the sport of track and field to the youth of Panama City, FL and the surrounding areas. While learning the proper techniques of running, jumping and throwing, they encourage kids to find the potential within themselves. Their program helps to develop the characteristics of hard work, self discipline, and leadership while promoting a healthy lifestyle of fitness and proper nutrition. The Shaldera Track Club also provided mentoring services to children ages 6 to 18 and takes runners to regionals, nationals and the Junior Olympics. The Shaldera Track Club is a not-for-profit organization. They rely solely on donations.
